The finals of the Student Management Championship (DMB 2014) closed with a huge success of the University of Pécs. Over 700 students from 26 higher education institutions took part in the national competition in Budapest. The team of Péter Derdák, Dániel Makk and Ákos Ronta prove to be the best of all.

Five countries and 43 teams took part in the VII. International Aventics Pneumobile Competition held in Eger, Hungary on May 16-17. The main aim of the competition was to pay attention to alternative energy sources and the efficient use of natural resources.

A great personality of the University of Pécs, Faculty of Economics, one of the prominent representatives who created the regional education and research system in Hungary, Professor Attila Buday-Sántha passed away tragically on the 17th of May, 2014.

Kevin Dowling, Ambassador of Ireland in Budapest came to Pécs in May, 2014. During his two-day visit, his delegation met the leaders of the city and the University of Pécs. The Ambassador opened the fascinating exhibition about W.B. Yeats, Irish Nobel prize holder poet organised by the university’s Faculty of Humanities. Mr. Dowling also held a lecture about the significance of Irish literature. 

We are pleased to inform our current and prospective students that a new website in Chinese has been launched for the Chinese students and their parents about the international degree programmes of the University of Pécs.

Delegates arrived to the University of Pécs from the Tokyo Medical University on the 13th of May. The main objective of the visit was to deepen professional and scientific relations. The two institutions have been engaged in a fruitful cooperation in many areas so far; the current meeting was organized by the leaderships of the two medical faculties in order to negotiate about further collaboration opportunities.

An honourable Chinese delegation arrived in Pécs on the 11th of May, 2014 in order to negotiate about a promising exchange programme between the Hangzhou Normal University and the University of Pécs. Du Wei, president of the Normal University, which is located in the most developed region of China and his companions spent two fruitful days in our city.
