A special and successful informative event was held at the headquarters of the UP on the 5th of February 2014. Organizers set the goal to present unique tuition-free study programmes for those UP students who would like to discover and experiment far away overseas education and culture.
The recent agreement taken by the Gedeon Richter Plc and the UP aims at the successful operation of an outstanding scientific workshop. The document about the collaboration was signed by Erik Bogsch, CEO of the pharmaceutical company Richter and Dr. József Bódis, rector of the University of Pécs on the occasion of inaugurating the brand new behavioural research unit in Kővágószőlős called Endre Grastyán Research Centre.
Xiao Qian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China in Hungary arrived at the University of Pécs with his delegation on the 8th of January, 2014. The goal of his visit was to agree upon the details concerning the future Confucius Institute in Pécs, as well as to discuss further Chinese-Hungarian cooperation opportunities with the UP leadership. The mission of the institute will be to raise the awareness among UP citizens about the thousand-year-old tradition of Chinese medicine and culture.
The Minister of Human Resources classified the University of Pécs as a Research University for the period from 2013 to 2016.
