Erasmus
I learned about the Erasmus+ program during my first semester at the University of Pécs, in Pécs, Hungary. Our coordinator offered ample information regarding the program, placements, and conditions for Erasmus semesters abroad. I was immediately intrigued. After applying and receiving notification that I had been admitted to the European Studies program at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, I began preparing for the trip. Of the many “student cities” in Europe, Kraków seemed particularly appealing; a strong academic record, low prices, plenty of student support, and a vibrant music and arts scene. I found the transition very easy.
Erasmus+ Staff Week was organized by the University of Pécs in the framework of the International Spring at the end of the April. The conference and workshop addressed topics of interest in the field of international relations, particularly the Erasmus+ mobility programme.
In the second semester of the academic year of 2016/2017, 144 Erasmus student arrived to the University of Pécs to 10 faculties, from 25 countries and 67 partner universities within the framework of Erasmus+ Programme. The UP Centre for International Relations organizes an orientation day for foreign students studying at the UP.

The 27-years-old Spanish philology student, Sergio Barro Rivera has just finished his BSc studies and having spent a year in Pécs he is already thinking about coming back here for the Master programme.

Walking in te streets of Pécs you can meet with a lot of interesting faces. One of these was Kristian who is a Norwegian Erasmus-student at the University of Pécs right now. I asked him about his decision – why did he choose Pécs – and his opinion about the life around him, now and then.
Several orientation days were held in the University of Pécs recently, since both the foreign exchange students (filling 1 or 2 semesters here) and the students who spend their whole teaching in Hungary arrived to the city.
