Each year, the International Studies Center of the UP Medical School (ISC) organizes the Hungarian Language and Culture Summer University which has been a great success throughout the years. The special language courses combined with a range of interesting, exciting local programmes, parties and workshops aim to provide students with high-level language and professional skills in English and Hungarian that facilitate successful participation in degree programmes in Hungary. Enhancing language and professional skills, as well as deepening the intercultural awareness of students are of high priority for the qualified and committed instructors.

In the past years, the ISC has announced the availability of the following scholarships for the Hungarian Language and Culture Summer University:
- For incoming Erasmus exchange students at the University of Pécs in the upcoming study period (next year: for 2015/2016)
- For freshmen of the upcoming academic year at the Medical School (next year: of 2015/2016)
Both scholarships will cover the full tuition and registration fees of the Summer University (optional costs and travelling won't be included). Besides a great basic knowledge of Hungarian language, participants will obtain:
- ECTS credits after the successful closing exam
- A much better understanding of Hungarian language and culture
- Printed materials from lessons and extracurricular activities
- Inspiring exchanges with Hungarians and fellow students from all over the world
- Broad intercultural knowledge that will enrich their life experience
- Products of their project works (photos, lists of useful expressions and other objects)
- A clear vision of what they will have to do next in order to make further progress
- And hopefully plenty of good memories :)
