Orientation day for Erasmus students
In the first semester of the academic year of 2015/2016, 142 Erasmus student arrived to the University of Pécs to 9 faculties, from 18 countries and 78 partner universities within the framework of Erasmus+ Programme. The UP Centre for International Relations organized an orientation day for foreign students studying in the UP.
The event - in which beside the invited students also Faculty Erasmus coordinators took part - was held in the Faculty of Business and Economics on 7. September.
On the part of the university, Dr. Gyula Zeller, Vice Rector for Economic, Financial and Strategic Affairs greeted the foreign students who will study in our university by Erasmus+ and other contracts between universities in the first semester of the academic year of 2015/2016. Dr. Gyöngyi Pozsgai, International Relations Coordinatorprovided information about the international activity and student life of the University, then Judit Németh,Institutional Erasmus Coordinator described the progress of the student administration. The EHÖK Erasmus Student Network presented its cultural and sport events for PTE and Pécs students announced in the semester.
In the orientation day students could hear about theoretical and practical information: the Erasmus Office provided detailed information about the progress of the registration, the aliens’ tasks, student hostels as well as about the „Hungarian as a foreign language” course at the University and cultural programmes for foreign students.
Beside the 142 Erasmus students 9 Brazilian students came to the UP within the framework of the Brazilian exchange program called „Science Without Borders”. Within the framework of other inter-university agreements 1 American, 4 Korean, 2 Mexican, 2 Canadian, 1 Japanese and 3 Kazakh students came to our university.
