The organizer of this annual event is the English-German Student Council. Our international students present their own country, culture and cuisine for the participants of the event. The International Evening is one of the most popular student events, similarly to PEN (University Days of Pécs).
The government of Hungary decided, at the beginning of 2016, to support the development of the University of Pécs in the framework of the Moderns Cities Programme. The aim of this 24-billion HUF subsidy is to double the number of the foreign students studying in Pécs by 2020. This means that a rapid development can be expected at the University of Pécs in the next few years, which can lead to modernising the infrastructure as well as inviting highly qualified lecturers and researchers to come home to work.

The Irish Dentistry Award, a prestigious recognition was given to a dentist-oral surgeon, who graduated from the University of Pécs. Dr. Antal Róka, who runs his own surgery, deserved the award for Best Employer.

Zsolt Páva, Mayor of the City of Pécs, Bishop George Udvary and József Bódis, the Rector of the University of Pécs launched an Information Point (InfoPont) at Széchenyi Square Tuesday morning, which from now on will serve the purpose to provide city dwellers, tourists to the city, or even foreign university students with first-hand information about the city as well as the university.
