Since 2013 the Sports’ Office has organized more than a hundred events in nearly 35 sports (Aerobic, track and field, table tennis, snooker, rattling ball, table football, go-kart, squash, fitness, floorball, futsal, handball, football (indoor and outdoor), basketball, streetball, swimming, volleyball, chess, tennis, hiking, etc.). In recent years, nearly sixteen thousand students have participated in these events.

Apart from the leisure activities, the Sports’ Office organizes competitions between the Faculties in different sports (outdoor football, volleyball, basketball, handball, futsal). These competitions run in a championship-scheme with more than a thousand students competing with each other.

The University of Pécs is celebrating the 650th anniversary of the first Hungarian university this year. Honouring this jubilee, the university is giving place for various cultural, scientific or sport events in 2017.

The Night of Sports is an highlighted event of the UP Sports Office, which was first organized in the year when the Office was established in 2013. Since then it has been held each autumn.

The UP has always been famous for its outstanding research performance. Therefore, we have launched a series of researcher portraits in order to present diversity, results and opportunities of the scientific work carried out at the UP. Identification of the exciting, attractive and powerful buzzwords which characterise the specific communication styles and values of the young age group are specialties of the portraits made by the Universitas Television of the UP. The next episode of these video series offers insight into the perceptions of the young researchers of different disciplines about sport.
