Recognition

On the occasion of our national holiday, 15th March high state awards were conferred on several tutors of our university.

The Senate of the University of Pécs awards the Press Award for Higher Education in Pécs every year in recognition of the expertise and conscientious work of a fellow worker in media which contributed to the reputation of the institution. 

The Pécs Academic Committee (PAB) recognized the scientific activity of its members with awards in 2015, too. Several lecturers of our University have been awarded on 3. November in Pécs.

Kálmán Tóth, Vice Rector for Science and Innovation of the University of Pécs and director of the 1st Department of Internal Medicine has been recognized with the Markusovszky Commemorative Plaquette and the Hemorheology and Microcirculation Award.

The president of Hungary – upon the advice of the government – awarded Széchenyi Prizes on the occasion of our national holiday, 15th March. From the tutors of our university Széchenyi Prize was conferred on professors Dr. János Hebling and Gábor Kovács L.

Creaton Hungary Ltd. invited entries for an architectural competition named „Hovel it together! Ceramic roof tiles in architecture – In any function” the second time in 2014. It is a honor that - according to the recently published results –the instructors of the UP Pollack Mihály Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology earned both the first and the second prizes.

On 18. December 2014, the Day of Nationalities the Nationality Award of Hungary was handed over. This year, Prof. dr. Gerhard Seewann, Leader of the der Foundational Department of German History and Culture in Southeastern Central Europe at the University of Pécs recieved the award from Minister Zoltán Balog.

The award was handed over by Zsolt Tiffán, chairman of the County Assembly at the county day event held in Sellye. Dr. Zsolt Nemeskéri thanked for the support of the faculty to the county management. The Péter Koltai Award was conferred to dr. Zsolt Nemeskéri, dean of the Faculty of Adult Education and Human Resource Development for his research work creating scientific values and his outstanding activity in the higher education of the county.

We are proud and pleased to inform our students, staff and partners that János László, Professor of the Institute of Psychology was honoured by the prestigious Jean-Paul Codol Award in 2014 for his activities in the field of European social psychology development.

Each year on the 26th of June, people around the world celebrate the world day against drugs. On this occasion, Károly Czibere, secretary for Social Affairs and Social Inclusion at the Department of Human Resources honoured Professor Gábor Kelemen, professor of the UP’s Faculty of Humanities with the Elige Vitam (meaning: Choose to live) Award.
