The University of Pécs has been chosen by more people in 2015 than in previous years: the number of university applicants for the UP has grown by more than 800 since 2013. This means the institution preserved its fourth place in the popularity list of those who applied for a higher education institution. This result is important especially from that point of view that the number of applicants for higher education institutions has decreased all over the country.
Doctor Honoris Causa titles, Commemorative Plaquette for the Hungarian Higher Education, professor emeritus, private professor, honorary professor, honorary docent and habilitated doctor degrees were conferred at the ceremonial meeting of the Senate of the University of Pécs held in the Dr. Halasy-Nagy József Aula on 12th March.
The studio guest of the Universitas Television was Zoltán Jenei, who was appointed as the chancellor of the University of Pécs. During the studio conversation he talked about the motivation of his application, tasks and professional challenges he is facing, and about his favourite hobby as well.
Organised by the International Relations Office, a university delegation went to visit the University of Novi Sad on the 29th and 30th of January, 2015. The purpose of the highly successful visit – which was realized by a TÁMOP tender resource – was to deepen the cooperation with the higher education institution providing Hungarian education beyond the border.
Several orientation days were held in the University of Pécs recently, since both the foreign exchange students (filling 1 or 2 semesters here) and the students who spend their whole teaching in Hungary arrived to the city.
Dr. József Bódis, the Rector of the University of Pécs was the studio guest of the Universitas Television. Our colleague asked him about the institutional development plans and tasks the university is facing.
Meeting was organised again to the professors of the UP on the occassion of the new year. Jenei Zoltán, the newly appointed chancellor was introduced by the rector during the event.
The Knowledge Centre operates with holiday opening schedule before, during and after the holidays, which affects those who wish to study at the library during the exam period. Other than these days, the Knowledge Centre is accessible during the regular opening hours.
