The PTE Support Service is 10 years old
The University of Pécs was the first higher education institution that established a Support Service in 2005. On the occasion of the ten-year anniversary of the service, a conference was held at the PTE on 20. October with the title „For you, with you – the Sensitive University ".
József Bódis, rector of the PTE emphasized: „One of the most important strategic aims of the University of Pécs is improving the equal opportunities of students with disabilities, which we already drew up in our concept of the Sensitive University. Within this framework, we, at the University of Pécs do our best to help students with special needs to live their life as full as possible".
Among other things, this attitude is the reason why ’The first University of Hungary” is one of those higher education institutions in the country where the number of students with disabilities is the highest.
The visitors of the conference - which was supported by a sign-language interpreter continuously – could hear a presentation about how to achieve the cessation of discrimination of people with disabilities, what are the labor market opportunities of people with disabilities and what are the development plans of the PTE in university para sport.
