Week of international guests at the Faculty of Business and Economics
One of the main purposes of the Faculty of Business and Economics is to share the international experiences of education and research with the instructors and the students of the faculty. One way to do this is to invite the instructors of the international partnerinsitutions to the Faculty of Business and Economics within the scope of the International Educational Week and Visiting Scholar programs to gain experiences.
11 foreign instructors and researchers came to the faculty from several countries of Europe, China, United States and Canada within the scope of the two programs. They gave presentations at the English language courses of the faculty and also took part in the workshops organized for instructors. There are two main topics in the workshop conversations: exchanging experiences in the sustainability and alternative approaches in economics furthermore innovative educational methodology solutions. The students had the opportunity to meet a specific practice, the concept lab, which was available also for the students of the Hungarian courses through the intervention of the Simonyi BEDC.
There was another purpose of the events of last week: to prepare the agreements going beyond the exchange of lecturers with two partners. The Dutch Arnhem Business School and the UP Faculty of Business and Economics have cooperated in the area of exchanging instructors and students for a long time, but now they would like to develop this and extend the common work also to other fields.
Similarly close relationship was formed with the Chinese Nanjing Audit University in recent years. As a result Shino-Hungarian International Forum will be organized in Hungary next year, whiches purpose is to cultivate the Hungarian-Chinese relationships. This event will be organized as a university-level program.
Three professors from the North American continent spend more time: 1 month at the faculty within the scope of Visiting Scholar Program. The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the institutional and common research relationships, besides to make an opinion workshop which supports the publishing activity of the instructors of the faculty with useful informations and methods.
The purpose of the international activity of the Faculty of Business and Economics is to increase the international popularity of the faculty efficiently with the cooperations and experiences gained during the visits and to ensure international environment and opportunity to gain experiences for those instructors and students of the faculty who can not take part in foreign exchange programs.
