The University of Pécs among the best universities!
The latest university ranking was published by the Quacquarelli Symonds Company from London. The University of Pécs also demanded a position for itself as a new participant of the top universities’ list.
Results are based on 6 criteria, including proportion of students, number of international students and instructors, opinion of employers, citation indices and the judgement of the academic field.
In the last few years more rankings were regularly compiled: ranking of the best university cities, the universities younger than 50 years, the best higher education institutions in Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Latin America, but thematic institution lists were also published.
While in last year four Hungarian universities belonged to the leading international higher education institutions, in the international ranking of the 2016/2017 year the UP also demanded a place for itself! Based on the achievement, József Bódis, rector of the University of Pécs emphasized: “The UP has a great position in many international ranking lists based on objective criteria, therefore every citizen of the UP – which celebrates its 650th jubilee next year - could be proud of it. This newly published ranking list can also ensure us that we are on the right way and the development of the UP is internationally recognized.”
