The Pécs Debate Academy is a unique regional initiative started in 2013. In 2016, PDA functioned also as CEEPUS Summer School on Migration, which provided an opportunity for students from all corners of the world to get engaged with a series of debates on topics closely connected with our transnational and "glocal" world.
The special Pécs Debate Academy 2017 uses a mixed methodology. Students learn about the hot topics of higher education in 21st century from international and local experts while they also gain an opportunity to develop their speaking skills and learn to argue along the techniques of the British Parliamentary Debate style from highly qualified international debate trainers. The Pecs Debate Academy is a debate training series that embeds a youth forum conference, which is supported by courses on introduction to debate systems, discussions, conference lectures, debate trainings, and a debate tournament.
The fourth edition of the Pécs Debate Academy has started, organized this year between 28 July 10 August at the University of Pécs under the title ‘Ongoing Migration Crisis and Central Europe – Europe in a Changing Global Context from a Visegrád Perspective’.
