Faculty of Humanities

The Film Studies Department under the aegis of the Faculty of Humanities has launched a new program in film and visual culture. It offers courses for foreign students studying permanently or temporarily at the University of Pécs in any discipline. The program covers a wide range of social, political and individual topics seen through the optic of Eastern-European film makers.

The International Student Hub is a new and exciting initiative established with the ambition to accomodate the wide range of needs of international students at the Faculty of Humanities.

Qais Yousufi arrived from Afghanistan on a grant in 2012, and obtained a degree at the department of International Studies at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Pécs. Currently he lives in Budapest and works for an international organization as an intercultural liaison and adviser. He is recalling the past few years at our request and tells us what living in Hungary is like.

The pan-art Festival labelled as excellent by the Hungarian Festival Association and awarded second place in the Hungarian festivals' gradation in 2010 befalls at almost 20 locations in 5 villages through the course of 5 days, every year in August. Several of the musical, theatrical, literary and fine art programs require an intimate, inward setting for a small audience, while some of them are real open-air festival-concerts with thousands present.
