UP was represented at the TOP200 for the first time
The „TOP200” conference of „Figyelő” was organised on 6 November 2014, where the rector of our university, Prof. dr. József Bódis represented the institution for the first time. The yearly organised TOP200 conference along with the Gala is one of the most outstanding business event of the year.

Those 200 largest companies will get into the focus, which achieved the most prominent economic results based on the pre-determined criteria. In 2014-ben the main topic of the TOP 200 project was the innovation, where UP also achieved great success.
Bódis József emphasised in his presentation, that the higher education, the academic research bases have role in the innovation processes, and these centres could also be the regional centres of innovation. In his presentation, he described in detail several innovation success stories and also addressed why is it worth to cooperate with the UP.
The event was opened by Prof. Dr. József Pálinkás commissioner, who gave new information about the current system of tenders and grants. For the part of large companies Gábor Éri, President and CEO of Ericsson and Christopher Laska, CEO of Telenor talked in details about the cooperation between the major corporations and the education, the efficient use of innovation grants.
The conference ended with a round table discussion, where business leaders analysed the opportunities for connection to a small number but agile startup firms.
