Pécs could be the home of innovation
Samsung Electronics Magyar Zrt. and the University of Pécs (UP) established strategic cooperation in various areas such as education, health care and research and development. The agreement has been signed on 16t October by the leaders of UP and Samsung Electronics.
„Samsung Electronics is a strategic partner of Hungary and the University of Pécs is the first hungarian university which established strategical cooperation with the world famous multinational company. UP as a leading higher educational institution of the Transdanubian Region is on the top in a fields of innovation therefore can be a self-evident partner of the market leading Samsung.” – said Dr. József Bódis, rector of the UP.
There are three key elements of the cooperation. The first one is using Samsung IT solutions with UP expertise in order to create new software applications in the healthcare sector.
The second is using the newly created high-tech applications that contribute to the better health care support of the local citizens. In parallel with this effort, the „Samsung Smart School" concept will be introduced, that improves teaching methods in schools.
The third medium term plan is to establish an Innovation and Educational Centre where the innovative ideas – as the first prototypes – can be created.
