The University of Pécs in the TOP 500!
The Times Higher Education international ranking placed the University of Pécs to the prestigious 401-500 place in two categories. According to the list of the London-based company, the University of Pécs belongs to the TOP 500 universities of the world in clinical, pre-clinical and health sciences, as well as in life sciences, furthermore it is the strongest higher education institution in Hungary outside Budapest.
The University of Pécs has been listed in the tables of the Times Higher Education in two subjects: clinical, pre-clinical & health sciences, and life sciences, and has been ranked among the best 500 higher education institutions in these fields. The 2019 Times Higher Education World University Rankings’ table for the different subjects uses the same rigorous and balanced range of 13 performance indicators as the overall World University Rankings, but the methodology has been recalibrated to suit the individual fields. They evaluate the universities across all of their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Citations (35%) play an important part, as well as results of education and research (27.5-27.5%).
Attila Miseta rector of the University of Pécs emphasized in connection with the latest international ranking: “The international ranking of Times Higher Education is generally recognized and well-known among the universities. Therefore, we have a reason to be proud of this achievement, since we belong in the TOP 500 in two subjects. At the same time, our aim is to become stronger in the other subjects as well and reach the level of the elite in all subjects.”
