University of Pécs is the second best in the countryside
The latest university ranking has been published by the Times Higher Education based in London. The world’s best 800 university can be found in this list, where University of Pécs (UP) remained high as the second best Hungarian university in the countryside.
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2015-2016 list the best global universities and are the only international university performance tables to judge world class universities across all of their core missions - teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
The world ranking is based on five area’s index: teaching environment, research, citations, industrial incomes and international orientation. Therefore this calculating method is quite complex and the result is mainly because of the past years scientific achievements.
Gyula Zeller, vice rector of the university said: „It is a strategic aim of our university to increase the number of foreign students. There is a potential interest all around the world for the University of Pécs. However our reputation could be maintained only if the foreign students take home their good experiences after the graduation. This is the reason why we would like to develop our foreign language courses in order to increase their satisfaction.”
