Student rector candidates in the University Days of Pécs - Part 3/2.

Poison EvolutioN - Faculty of Health Sciences 

I'm Raymund Márton, the candidate for the student rector title from the Faculty of Health Sciences. Rockabilly is the base of our story, but it seemed to be too simple in itself. That's why we wanted to twist it a little bit. There was a special style within rockabilly during the 80-s in England: its main characteristics remained but something more was added to it. It is a sick aspiration to horrible things. I really enjoy and listen to this kind of music, but it has been completely new for the other members of our team. This idea has been in my mind for a while, and lacking any other worthwhile idea everyone agreed about exploring mine.

Balance between girls and boys was our main issue, and we wanted to represent all of the classes of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Most of us have known each other and we usually go to parties and enjoy ourselves together. Our style cannot be compared to any other former themes, so we have to make up our own original version. The Metal Ladies team was really swell and maybe it could seem to be similar to us. In my opinion these two styles have nothing to do with each other. And we have these special long for horrible things! It is manifested in our outfits, and we have several wounds, but we are not zombies and we don't want to be called the walking dead!

As a student rector I should clear my tasks and role at first, because nobody could explain this to me completely. Maybe I could be a link between the students and the leaders of the university. I could cooperate with the Student Union, and with the faculties as well. I think I could help any students in this way.

Asterix and the Gauls - Faculty of Sciences

I'm András Kiss, the candidate for the student rector title from the Faculty of Sciences. We formed our team inspired by the films and cartoons about Asterix and the Gauls. Every single member of our team is going to dress like a Gaul, and each of us is going to use a special name with an x at its end. I am sure that this will be funny! We have a joint group: several classes, several majors are represented. There are freshmen among us, but three of the team have been at PEN during the former years.

Plenty of ideas have been discussed, for example we almost became gods of the Olympus (which is a current theme of the Faculty of Adult Education and Human Resources Develpoment – the editor). We studied the former roles, and some hilarious ideas came from the former videos. I have to admit that I liked the PENily Guy a lot! The Cirka de Muffalo was a brilliant idea as well, we appreciate that each gipsy had his/her own character and role. I loved the team called MacPENdrinks and admired the team called PENfoglalók, too. I have seen the themes of the other faculties, and I have to admit: they are excellent. But we are going to make our best, too!

I'm not power hungry at all. But if I were the student rector, I would organize parties. I think I would do a bigger festival during the next autumn. It would be so great to attend a big program between the faculties and within faculties. For example I can even imagine a sausage-filling at the former Leather Factory!

PENegyerekek - Faculty of Business and Economics

I am Dávid Nagy, the candidate for the student rector title from the Faculty of Business and Economics.

Our team is the "PENegyerekek". Keeping alive our tradition the members of the team are the members of student organization called the Tau Beta as well. I would like to emphasize that our team is more than a collective of 15 people – the student union of the faculty, other student's organizations and all the other students of the faculty support us. The basic idea was inspired by Oliver Twist. The so-called waif-style combines several elements and eras. It invokes the "greaser feeling" too, mixed with the fashion of America in the 80’s. Sneakers, jeans and leather jackets, shirts with collars turned up. A wasted yet joyful childhood is personalized. A team of orphan youths, whose family is the gang. We are outsiders and outlaws - we are not criminals, we only steal apples or food by necessity.

We liked the team called Cirka de Muffalo the best two years ago, but our main purpose is to surpass the performance of our own former team.
