Mentor of the Year Studies at the University of Pécs!
The National Union of Students in Hungary (HÖOK), the Ministry of Human Capacities and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade organized a banquet on 15 February 2019 in Budapest, where the awards for the best mentors and best institutional mentors have been announced. A student of the University of Pécs, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Shahab Wali Khan won the Mentor of the Year Award.
A unique national mentor programme has been launched under the supervision of the National Union of Students in Hungary as a pilot programme at certain higher education institutions, the University of Pécs being one of them.
First year Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship holders of these chosen institutions receive a mentor, who helps them in their daily life, facilitates their inclusion and immersion into the Hungarian culture, and in the framework of this programme they visit historical sites of the country, and the most important cities. The mentors participate in a special training programme, which enables them to give better help to their mentees.
