Call for expression of interest - experts for the ECoC project wanted!
The European Commission published an open call for expressions of interest to establish a pool of experts to be potential members of the Panel for the European Capital of Culture EU action.
The European Parliament, the Council, and the Commission will each select three experts each from this pool - and the Committee of the Regions one expert apiece - appointing them members of the Panel in accordance with their respective procedures.
As a rule, the experts shall be appointed for a period of three years. The role of the Panel will be to assess the applications received from cities bidding for the European Capitals of Culture title, to recommend one city for the title per competition and to monitor the preparation of designated cities until the title-year.
The call for expressions of interest gives further background information about the European Capital of Culture action as well as about the selection and monitoring procedures. It also indicates the criteria experts must meet to be registered in the pool.
The call is open until the 31th of December, 2020. Experts can register at any time prior to the last three months of validity of the call. However, experts who are interested in this call are invited to send their application as soon as possible.
