The name UnivPécs comes from a shortened version of the university, and it has been published since 2000. For several years, it has been printed as a biweekly newspaper, but after a while, both the format as well as the content have changed, so now it is published as a magazine about life at the University of Pécs twice a year in English and four times a year in Hungarian.

We are especially proud, that students have always played important roles as student journalists, student photographers, they even helped with the distribution of the magazine. Some of them started to write for national media after their graduation, others keep writing as a hobby. Many of our student colleagues have won national media awards with their articles or photographs. All of our current colleagues, even the editor-in-chief started to work for the magazine during their studies. If you join UnivPécs, you become part of an enthusiastic group of people for whom the magazine is more than a job, because we put our hearts in to it.

When you go on a mission, to make an interview, or take photos of an event, they can be very different: from a serious conference about bio printing research, to a lively discussion with seven ambassadors about current issues. Or it can be a unique interview with your favourite professor, or even a legendary concert. On these occasions, you will meet new people. Some of them will become your friends, some of them a trustworthy contact, but the most important is the experience itself. You can use it to grow personally as well as professionally so that you can boost your CV and decide if you are meant to be for a career journalist, or rather something else.

If you would like to join UnivPécs as a student journalist, photographer, or if you are good in social media, you are welcome to join us! If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us:
