What can I study at the University of Pécs?
Notably, the training our institution offers represent traditional and classical values while simultaneously acts upon the international challenges of modern higher education. Our Bologna-type courses embrace nearly every field of training, meaning those applying to our university possess the opportunity to select from 300 different programs, ranging from higher-level vocational trainings through BA and MA courses, and up through PhD programs.
In addition to the courses offered in humanities, legal studies, medical and health sciences, economics, social and natural sciences, technology, sports and athletics and the visual arts, a significant number of MA programs are offered in teacher training.
The reputation and popularity of the university is enhanced by the immense number of foreign students attracted to the university, largely due to the courses held in foreign languages, the various exchange programs and the 15 colleges in support of advanced studies. Today, 1000 doctoral candidates are studying within the framework of the PhD/DLA programs, representing the highest level of education.
Owing to its wide range of high quality educational programs, the University of Pécs is commonly referred to as the center of knowledge of the South Transdanubian region. However, its national and international appeal is equally strong as half of the student population studying here originate from different parts of the country. Today the number of foreign students attending of UP numbers over 3800.
