Pécs Plácido Domingo Classics - an international multicultural festival

The festival organized for the first time this year has Verdi’s La Traviata at its heart, the role of Giorgo Germont sung by world-renowned tenor Plácio Domingo. He’ll be joined by one of the leading sopranos of our time, Marina Rebeka, who, since her international breaktrough in the role of Violetta Valery of La Traviata, has been a regular quest at the most prestigious concert halls and opera houses of the world. Joushua Guerrero, celebrated tenor of the Los Angeles Opera sings the role of Alfredo Germont.
The opening concert of the festival 22nd June features artists of the Metropolitan Opera – soprano Angel Blue, baritone Yunpeng Wang and Soloman Howard, bass, along with Joshua Guerrero tenor and the soloists of the Pécs Ballet, under the baton of Eugene Kohn conducting the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra. The closing event on 25 June brings closer the culture of Spain through Carmen performed by Spanish Antonio Gades Dance Ensemble.
