The story is the same every year: as soon as may turns to an end, people in Pécs get excited by the idea that the annual summer festival of the city, the Promenade Festival is just about to start. This year, the event series will be organized betweenthe 5th and 22th of June, in Szent István square. It stands without any doubt that the event is one of the greatest during the year; the regions' winemakers offer their best refreshments for guests in front of the cathedral, under the shady chestnut trees. People of all ages can find programs every day, from early afternoon until late night.

 Furthermore, it is beneficial to bear in mind that wines of the University of Pécs can also be found at the Promenade Festival. Perhaps it is less well-known that the University has its own winery. The here manufactured wines of high quality have gained several prestigious wine competition awards so far.  These wines are now available to a wider audience, visitors can learn about the wines of the UP, and they even have the possibility to taste and to purchase selected wines of the University from 2010, 2011 and 2012 vintages.

At the stand of the UP winery, university students, staff and alumni members are eligible for 20 % discount for the entire duration of the event!
