Bert Sakmann German Nobel Prize Winner in Phisiology visits Pécs on 23 March 2018 on Science Day.
Together with Erwin Neher, he received the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine 1991 “for their discoveries concerning the function of single ion channels in cells”. The focus of his current research is to elucidate the functional anatomy of circuits in the cerebral cortex that form the basis of simple behavior (e.g. decision making).
