The next events of the International Spring organized by the Centre for International Relations, UP are the European Days from 16-19 April 2018.
French Evening – 16 April
The International Spring goes on with the European Days and we are inviting you to the French Evening on April 16th.
At 6pm we will show you the animation film „Aya of Yop City” in French with English subtitles at the Department of Communication of the University (Zsolnay Cultural Center, E25 building, 001 room). After the film, we will be able to talk about it with Gyula Maksa, specialist of comics, with a glass of wine.
At 9pm, Jean-Christophe Giraud from the Alliance Francaise will play French music in Szabadkikötő ranging from Piaf to Gainsbourg going through Daft Punk.
Summary of the film:
Aya of Yop City (French title: Aya de Yopougon) is a 2013 French animated film directed by Marguerite Abouet and Clément Oubrerie and based on the graphic novel Aya of Yop City by the same authors.
The Ivory Coast, at the end of the 1970s, in Youpougon, a working class neighborhood in Abidjan, renamed Yop City, to be "like in an American film." 19-year-old Aya lives here. This serious young woman prefers to stay home studying instead of going out with her girlfriends. Aya divides her time between school, her family, and her two best friends, Adjoua and Bintou, who only think of hotfooting it to the bush as soon as night falls. Aya classifies these girls, who always find a way to chase after guys, despite their fathers keeping a close watch over them, as the Series H type: Hairdos, Hot fashions, Husband-hunting.
Things go awry when Adjoua becomes pregnant. Should she tell her family or see a "woman who removes pregnancies"? When Moussa, Sissoko's son, learns that he's the future father, he is stunned. How can he announce this terrible news to his father, the great Bonaventure Sissoko, one of the country's richest and most formidable men?

German Day – 19 April
A German City quiz and a retro music evening organized together with the Lenau Association are completing the International spring / European Days as a final event.
Program details:
11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Lenau-Haus
- City quiz about German historical memorials of Pécs
Teams consists of 4-5 persons are supposed to start their journey from the Lenau House walking around the city center, where they get to know historical memorials which connect to German culture and to the German minority.
The quiz can be solved between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. But attention: All results have to be handed in until 5 p.m. in the Lenau House.
Announcement at 7 p.m. in Café Nappali.

The students of the Faculty of Humanities, UP and Lenau House are organizing a German retro disco together. During the evening we take care of the best German hits from the 60-70-80-90s! If you are interested in German music, or if you just want to have fun, you have to be there!
