Annual congress of the Hungarian Medical Association of America in Balatonfüred

The Hungarian American Medical Association (HMAA) is an organization of Hungarian-born doctors and researchers working in North America, which was established in Cleveland in order to preserve and promote the medical tradition back in 1968. The HMAA aims to provide a friendly and professional tie between medical experts living in North America and Hungary.

Just to mention two worldwide famous members of the HMAA, the association included Professor János Selye and William Ganz.

The HMAA supports the Hungarian medical students studying at the University of Buffalo in New York, where 16 Hungarian medical students are eligible for fulfilling a three-month professional internship exchange programme.

HMAA participants in 2013

Each year since 2007, the HMAA Hungary Chapter has organized a multidisciplinary student congress in Hungary. The eighth edition of the conference will take place on the 22th and 23th of August, which will offer a colourful and exciting agenda of high-quality presentations by young professionals with over 200 expected participants.

More than a hundred abstracts were submitted this year, partly probably due to the main prize: the best young talent performing an outstanding English presentation will be invited to the aforementioned HMAA grand conference to be held in Sarasota, to present their piece of work once again.
