Stipendium Hungaricum Gala

The UP greets students of Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship with Gala Party.

Stipendium Hungaricum Gala at the University of Pécs

Within the framework of the Stipendium Hungaricum Programme nearly 500 foreign students have come to study at the University of Pécs in the last three academic years. The programme, therefore, is not only an important corner stone  of the Hungarian  external economic strategy, but also has  priority  in the internationalization of the UP. So the management of the university and the Centre for International Relations considered  it important to greet all of the 440  fellow students  who are studying by us with a special gala event.

Thanks to the Scholarship Programme students may come from 51 countries of the world, who can study at  several   levels of training (term(s) abroad, bachelor programmes, master programmes, undivided master training) at all the 10 faculties of the UP.

The Stipendium Hungaricum provides a great opportunity for all levels of training at  the university to strengthen their efforts towards internationalization..

The number of international fellow  students  at the UP has doubled within an  academic year, so the governance  of the university decided to organize a special event proposed by the Centre for International Relations. The special gala event is going to be held on the evening of 28th October at the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter.

József Bódis, rector of the UP said about the event:

"The Stipendium Hungaricum Programme is one of the most important means for the university to achieve the goals of the Modern Cities Program. It was an important milestone that, thanks to the same  programme the number of  foreign students at the university has exceeded  3000 by now.

Both with our everyday work and this gala party we would like to ensure international students that they are important for us and we count on them as well as their outstanding academic performance."
