One of the main objectives of the association of universities located near the former medieval European pilgrimage routes leading to Compostela, founded in 1993, is to preserve historical and cultural heritage.
The focal point of the network, today also open for Central and Northern American universities, is mobility and research co-operation. From 2016 on, UP is also involved in the presidency of the association, and its 2017 assembly and conference is going to take place in Pécs.
